R.I.P THE AMAZINGLY TALENTED GOLDIE HARVEY

This is a short tribute to Goldie Harvey – Susan Adebimpe Filani, A Nigerian pop star who very tragically passed away on Valentine's Day, one of the most celebrated days in the year, after attending the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, USA. Her life's journey unfortunately ended at Reddington’s Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

Goldie was an energetic stage performer renowned for her use of flamboyant costumes on and off camera. She was an international icon with a fan base worldwide. She always had the longing to express herself creatively, having been inspired by music, but was held captive by a deep shyness and the laws of her strict upbringing.

Amongst everything, she had a deep sense of gratitude believing and appreciating every single growth in her musical career as expressed in her last musical video SKIBOBO Feat. AY brought to you by Kennis Music.

There are no words that can accurately describe the sadness that we all feel at the passing of this talented, beautiful, original songstress -Goldie who had so much more to live for. She will be sorely missed by everyone in the industry and beyond.

RIP GOLDIE

Please take a moment to remember the absolutely amazing artist Goldie Harvey.

Actress Chika Ike, Opens Up about Trouble Marriage - I’m Getting a Divorce

Nollywood Actress, Chika Ike, in recent interview, gave an incite into her troubled marriage:

I understand this is a sensitive topic but could we talk about your marriage. How long were you married for?

I was married for about five years.

The end of your marriage brought up a lot of speculation with people insinuating different reasons in the media but up till date you haven’t really come out to say what went wrong. Why are you quiet about it?

I’m a very private person and I keep my private issues to myself. As an actress, there are some things I don’t want to let out. My marriage is a very sensitive topic and I don’t really like to speak about what I went through.

The major rumored reason was domestic violence and this is something a lot of women face in their marriages. A popular website once advised that you tell your story so that other women can learn from your experience.

Maybe when the right time comes, I’d talk about it. There is something I’ve been avoiding saying but I’d tell you. I’m separated and I’m working on my divorce and very soon I’d get a divorce.

Even if it’s so hard to believe, I’ve decided to let bygones be bygones and move on without him in my life. Both of us are still on talking terms and I’ve also learnt to forgive him. Maybe when I’m done with my divorce, I would be able to talk about it. I’m going through a lot of emotions right now and it’s still very fresh.

I quite understand. Do you think getting married at a young age was a disadvantage or had anything to do with the way it ended?

I think it has to do with so many reasons, one of them might be being young. Some people get married that young and have been able to make their marriages work. But if you’re young, you’re young.

There are some things you’ve not experienced. You might not be able to stay calm when you’re supposed to stay calm, understand when you’re supposed to understand or leave what you’re supposed to leave.

Also, I think these days, a lot of people are not happy in their marriages. I have a lot of friends who would have left their marriages but because of the African society, their in-laws, what people will say or other factors, they stay. We’ve heard of a lot of deaths caused by bad marriages and before the death, there would have been signs, things that have been happening leading up to that.

I think it has to do with age and so many other things like compatibility and not being true to yourself in the marriage. Everybody has a limit. There are some things in marriage that you might not be able to stand. Some people’s limit might not be my limit; my limit might be somebody’s starting point.

Have you moved on and are you willing to try again?

I’ve moved on but marriage right now is not at the top of my list. I’m still trying to get myself together. I don’t want to make the same mistake twice. I have to understand the person I’m going to be with. There are so many things involved

President Jonathan May Spend 7 Years In Prison After Tenure!!***Four Rep Members Will Die In 2013!!! C.C.C Prophet, Marcus Tibetan Predicts

These are some of the predictions of Prophet Marcus Tibetan, the Parish Head of Celestial Church of Christ, Elisha Parish, for the year 2013. Respected for the accuracy of his predictions, Prophet Marcus Tibetan who is widely referred to as the Nostradamus of our time predicts that ten Ministers in the cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan would be dropped this year for being ineffective and incompetent. President Goodluck Jonathan, says the prophet, should pray against losing loved ones in this year 2013.

The President should pray very hard against a situation that would arise and make him spend at least seven years in jail after his tenure as President of Nigeria.

He further predicts that the Senate President, David Mark, should begin to wind up and prepare for his exit from politics as disgrace is imminent.

The Vice President, Namadi Sambo, should forget any ambition of being the Vice President of Nigeria again after this first term. Bamanga Tukur may be the last PDP Chairman as the party would suffer a lot of crises and setbacks in 2013.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo needs to do more for the Yoruba race in particular and Nigeria in general. He should perform the assignment of putting the Yoruba race in the forefront with zeal as this could be his last assignment.

Prophet Marcus Tibetan’s earth shaking predictions for the year 2013 are presently being compiled into a book which will be in circulation within the first quarter of the year. The Prophet who is loved and respected in his native town of Ode-Aye has visited more than eighty countries.

His mastery of the Bible can be seen in his in exhaustive quotations from the Holy book.

The man of God is able to cure chronic diseases and ailments such as sickle cell anaemia and diabetes, amongst others.

Traffic law: Lagos destroys 3,000 seized okadas

Traffic law: Lagos destroys 3,000 seized okadas
The Lagos State Government has commenced the process of crushing 3, 000 motorcycles, popularly called okada, impounded from their owners for violating traffic law.
Officials of the state Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit on Tuesday dismantled the okadas at the task force yard in Alausa.
The Taskforce Chairman, Bayo Sulaiman, an Assistant Superintent of Police, said after the end of the dismantling exercise, the iron parts would be taken to the state Crushing Plant in Oshodi, where they would be crushed and recycled.
He said the action was to show that the government had stepped up its enforcement of the state traffic law, adding that the crushing of the okadas would serve as deterrent to other commercial motorcycle operators.
Sulaiman said, “These are okadas impounded since the new traffic law was signed into law. There are 3, 000 of them. Okada riders must obey our traffic law. They are fond of driving against traffic, on kerbs and several unauthorised places. The law has been passed and gazetted and there is no going back on its enforcement.
“We are dismantling the okadas now to separate the parts that are crushable from the ones that are not crushable. After this, we will take the crushable parts to Oshodi crushing plant, where they will be crushed and recycled. The non-crushable parts will probably be auctioned, but not in the state.
“The Taskforce has not started enforcing the law fully. But this should serve as a warning to them because we won’t hesitate to impound any okada caught on the restricted roads in the state.”
Sulaiman, however, said there were no riders to be prosecuted because the owners of the 3, 000 okadasabandoned them on sighting law enforcement officials.
On Monday’s protest by some of the riders, Sulaiman said, “They have the right to protest, but the government will be firm in what it does. It does not in any way stop our job, those who intend not to obey the law, we are coming after them. The protest is a group action, but our arrests will be one after the other and we will be out there on a daily basis.”
According to him, the law has been passed and those who will not obey the law will be punished.
The task force boss, however, said the law’s compliance level was improving on a daily basis. He advised the riders to go to areas where their operations are not restricted. Best Blogger Tips

3 Killed As Fulani, Berom Clash Again In Plateau

Fulanis and the Beroms have again returned to the battlefield as three persons have again been killed in two attacks carried out by the two groups in Barakin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Information gathered revealed that three Beroms who were on a motorcycle were on the way to Rakun village on Sunday evening were attacked by gunmen suspected to be Fulanis at about 7.30 pm.
Two of them who were already by Rakun Junction when the attack took place, were killed instantly and the remaining one escaped with injuries. On reaching the village and relating the incident, youths of the area regrouped and unleashed vengeance on the Fulani settlement close by leading to the death of a Fulani man. His body was discovered Monday morning. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Emmanuel Abu, confirmed the killing of the three persons.

It was learnt that the Fulani who were claiming innocence of the earlier attack were threatening to go into fullscale war with the Beroms in the area and this had forced some natives of Barakin Ladi to flee their homes. However, as at press time, the situation had been brought under control as security agents had been deployed to the area. Meetings were being held between the two groups to prevent further breakdown of order.

Barkin Ladi Chairman, Emmanuel Lomman condemn the killings as well as the reprisal and implored both the Special Task Force and the police to fish out the perpetrators on both attacks as government is not happy with the renewed killings in spite of peace efforts and several meetings held among all factions to find lasting peace in the area.
